“That sounds good.” He stuffed his hands deep in his pockets as he walked over to the counter.

She replied, working on cutting all of her tomatoes and placing them in her large bowl.

“Uh… Yeah. What are you making?” He said with a forced smile.

She never knew how to approach a conversation, she always felt like he was so upset with her that he didn't love her anymore, or didn't want her anymore.

She gathered ingredients, laying them on the counter.

"Are you hungry?"

“Oh. Hi.” Alex said, sounding surprised. He jumped a bit when he had noticed that Kylie was in the kitchen.

Ever since her overdose, he felt like he was walking on egg shells around her… Almost as if he thought it was his fault in the first place.

It's been weird since her father returned home. They hadn't really shared a conversation since the overdose.

She had been doing a lot of cooking lately, and that's where she was now, the kitchen.

She asked softly, referring to the rest of the family. She was trying not to be upset once seeing that the other was upset, but it was hard to keep those feelings hidden.

"I just want to feel included."

She whispered.

She was shocked, not expecting to see her cry. She paused, hugging the bannister of the stairs, arms wrapped around.

She was hesitant, biting her lip unsure of what to say but still didn't like seeing her cry.

"Why are you crying. Are you okay?"

She whispered.

Sitting in her room, eyes half focused on a book, she immediately heard the sound of a car in the drive way. She peeked in between her curtains, watching as she got out of the car and approached the door.

She dropped her book, running and watching from the top of the stairs

forgotten to inform her of anything. If it was some major event, she would have appreciated being informed. If it was no big deal, then it shouldn't have been hard to let her in on the details.

"Yeah, you know what? I guess I do."

@heymamassteph She gasped, her tense feeling fading as she stood up reaching into the bag of flour and tossed some on her shirt

@heymamassteph It took a moment, bent on the ground, paper towel over the egg before she started to laugh as well in the moment.

@heymamassteph She looked at the ground for a few seconds, watching as it leaked before grabbing paper towels.

"It happens, can't make a cake without cracking a few eggs... right?"

She let Steph handle the wet ingredients while she focused on the dry.

She smiled, chuckling a tad as she closed the cabinetry.

"She talks about you all the time."

"Obviously we don't have to be, you are practically an adult after all and I'm basically a kid, heh."
