🇯🇵 Japan, under the Takaichi administration, has strongly strengthened its permanent residency rules. These rules are quite strict. I will explain them below but here's who will be impacted the most:

🔺 Those who come from poorer countries and therefore have no savings or degrees.
🔺 Those who can't speak Japanese.
🔺 Those who goes against Japan (official term: national interests).
🔺 Those who make less money than the average Japanese person does.
🔺 Those who refuse to pay taxes.

Let me clarify what this actually means:

🔴 Currently, in order to become a permanent resident in Japan, you need to have lived here 10 years with a stable income and no criminal record.
🔴 It costs around 10000 yen ($62 USD).

🇯🇵 Now, thanks to the Takaichi administration, the new rules are the following:

🔴 All of your taxes need to have been paid (pension, residence tax, health insurance, etc).
🔴 It will now cost 200000 yen ($1250 USD).
🔴 An income consistently above the average Japanese household level which is extremely difficult for people without university degrees (particularly immigrants from some countries).
🔴 Stronger proof of long-term financial stability. You need to show that you have good spending habits, basically.
🔴 You need to learn Japanese and demonstrate it by taking a test.
🔴 Joining the employees' pension insurance for 30 years.
🔴 Your PR will be canceled if you break any of these rules.
🔴 Alignment with Japan's national interests. If you have a history of criticizing Japan, you can't become a permanent resident.
