With the recent influx of new HODLers and curious outsiders to #Bitcoin, I have written and curated a deeply researched essay on this paradigm-shifting emergent technology, with a particular focus on its immense human rights potential https://t.co/sAs1qeQh0U
@skinnygaz @nntaleb I read The Black Swan and Antifragile in November 2019, I felt like I was wearing different lens processing the implication of COVID numbers emerging in January and February 2020. We didn't act quickly enough, and then when we did it was too late AND went on for too long.
Think of all the people absolutely smashing life and quietly going about their business heroically who aren’t on Twitter. Who don’t feel the need to make threads or grow follower count. Operating on a higher wavelength. This is the goal, non-ironically speaking.
Self-custody/cold wallet security/transferring crypto wealth across generations = biggest bottleneck for mainstream crypto adoption. Self-custody requires a paradigm shift, assuming responsibility. Single point of failure risk needs to be addressed. Multisig best solution atm.
Recent examples of "rug pulls" being prosecuted as fraud or theft is welcome. Using new words in crypto/web3 doesn't change the underlying crime being committed. Many people will get burned still but this is the price we pay for decentralized and permissionless technologies.
During initial due diligence, frauds + legitimate enterprises look similar. Easy to create air of superficial legitimacy in emerging industries where people are still mapping territory. Bona fide actors in web3/crypto suffer from reputational damage caused by minority bad actors
In order to negate this, we will need to leverage precedents or templates that help investors (especially retail) to filter signal from noise. Heuristics, memes, reddit threads etc good for this but legal protections and punishment can also act as deterrents to malicious actors
Five months ago - in the midst of the NFT craze - I delved into my amateur photographer portfolio + put a favorite snap of mine on OpenSea to learn about how it all worked. For a reasonably priced ETH exchange, it can be yours! #NFTs#nftart#NFTartist https://t.co/wcyfmltVgC
@BenjiNaesen Benji your ability for predictions is astounding. You should setup a Discord for tips and predictions. I didn’t manage to get on WVA in time 😐
@JvNixon The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis achieves this on a much smaller scale, but it blew my mind to learn that individuals and institutions were doing such unheralded, important work. More coverage = more top graduates considering these net positive careers.
@joulee This isn't necessarily short but it is concise in its explanations of the characteristics of this broad, all-encompassing technology https://t.co/Up5hJroC50
@davidmcw Kudos, David, for approaching this paradigm shifting technology with an open mind. Great to see the primer series on the podcast as an educational tool. This article might help as a gateway to your understanding https://t.co/sAs1qeQh0U
