The kids are screaming in the back, your Tesla is filling with smoke, there’s a 5,000°F fire underneath you, but don’t panic, all you have to do is find the manual, read it cover to cover, remove some plastic trim, pull the cord, and open the door.

The reason Tesla hadn’t done anything to address this unacceptable risk before is because it didn't want customers to know that they might be burned alive.

It would have been easy to put a sign on the door saying "pull lever in event of fire" but this would have led to awkward questions in the showroom.

Tesla refuses to fix safety defects unless it’s forced to. Instead the evidence is concealed and the blame is denied, just like with Tesla's self-driving fatalities.

Tesla has finally admitted the safety defect is real and is fixing it for future vehicles, but what about the 7 million other Teslas that will still trap people in a 5,000°F fire?

How many more people need to be burned alive in survivable accidents before Tesla fixes this defect on all of its cars? It’s all about the money. This would cost money so I guess it’s out.
