CARE International is the global network of national Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere (CARE) organizations, affiliates, and community-based partner organizations. The original organization, known as CARE USA as of 2026, was created in 1945 at the end of World War II. The plan to form an umbrella organization to coordinate the national CARE organizations began in 1979, leading to CARE International’s establishment in 1982.

The Conservative Reform Network (CRN, formerly the YG Network) was an advocacy organization that promoted right-of-center policies focused on economic reforms and expanding “the middle class” as well as policy towards healthcare, energy, education, and welfare. The group ceased operations in 2020.

Town Creek Foundation (TCF) was a private foundation that that focused on environmental issues in Maryland, including the Chesapeake Bay. The foundation spent its endowment and ceased operations in 2021.

Uplifting Journey LLC was an Oregon-based behavioral-health company founded in November 2023 and co-owned by Julius Maximo and Espoir Ntezeyombi. Between April 2024 and March 2025, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) paid Uplifting Journey $2,317,496.20 in Medicaid reimbursements for substance-abuse treatment through the Oregon Health Plan. The company’s Lake Oswego residential facility became the subject of state and federal scrutiny after two of its residents were charged in connection with a kidnapping, torture, and attempted murder in Washington State, and federal authorities identified the men as members of the Venezuelan organized criminal syndicate Tren de Aragua.

Alliance of Families for Justice (AFJ) is a left-of-center criminal justice advocacy organization that provides free legal representation and community programs for incarcerated people in New York state and their families. It advocates for improved prison conditions on behalf of incarcerated persons and for removing laws prohibiting felons from voting, arguing that they are racist policies and “a vestige of Jim Crow laws.”

Tax March was a defunct left-of-center political advocacy campaign and fiscally sponsored project of the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a 501(c)(4) lobbying and advocacy organization in the network managed by the Washington, D.C.-based philanthropic consulting firm Arabella Advisors (now Sunflower Services). Launched in 2017 to organize demonstrations demanding that President Donald Trump release his tax returns, Tax March later broadened its focus to oppose the Trump administration’s 2017 tax legislation and later to support Biden administration initiatives. As of May 2026, Tax March and its website appeared to be defunct, and the group had been absorbed into another Sixteen Thirty Fund initiative, Unrig Our Economy, in 2022.

Tenants PAC is an influential Democratic-aligned lobbying and campaign group focused on expanding tenancy protections and rent-control policies in New York state. It played a role in a major expansion of rent control across New York state with its successful advocacy for the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act (HSTPA) in 2019.

United Chinese Americans (UCA) is a federation of Chinese Americans founded in 2016. The Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) alleged that at least ten UCA-affiliated people have been members of the Chinese Communist Party or Chinese government agencies, including former honorary advisory board member Wang Jisi, whom DCNF alleged belonged to four front groups of the Ministry of State Security, China’s main civilian intelligence agency.

The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM) is a labor union affiliated with the AFL-CIO that represents approximately 70,000 professional instrumental musicians in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1896 and headquartered in New York City, the AFM claims to be the largest organization in the world representing professional musicians, including members who perform in orchestras, theaters, clubs, and film and television productions. The union conducts collective bargaining; lobbies the U.S. Congress on a range of left-of-center legislative priorities, including expanded federal arts funding, labor organizing rights, and the regulation of artificial intelligence; and channels political contributions almost exclusively to Democratic candidates through its political action committee, the Taskforce for Employment of Musicians Promotional Organization (TEMPO) PAC.

The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is a membership organization established by a U.S. Congressional charter in 1863 to advise the federal government on scientific issues. The NAS operates as an independent nonprofit organization, electing its own members and conducting government-sponsored studies through its operational arm, the National Research Council (NRC). Together with the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Medicine, the NAS forms the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM). The NAS has advocated in favor of left-of-center policy positions through its peer-reviewed journal, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). Specific examples include support for left-of-center policy positions on environmentalism, LGBT interests, expanded immigration, social justice, and COVID-19 lockdowns and related policies. According to its 2024 tax filings, the NAS received over 56 percent of its revenues ($205,077,763) from government grants.

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is a private family foundation created by David Packard, a co-founder of Hewlett-Packard (HP), in 1964. It supports environmentalist causes, population control and abortion access, left-of-center community advocacy, and social justice initiatives. As of 2026, it continues to fund three programs that were created by David Packard in the 1980s: the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the Packard Fellowships in Science and Engineering.

The Bloomberg Family Foundation is a private grantmaking foundation created by left-of-center billionaire and former Mayor of New York City and Democratic presidential primary candidate Michael R. Bloomberg. Bloomberg, who as of 2026 had a reported net worth of over $95 billion, has pledged to give away most of his fortune during his daughters’ lifetimes.2 The Bloomberg Family Foundation is the main focus of Bloomberg’s charitable giving enterprises that are together known as Bloomberg Philanthropies.

The 60 Plus Association (also known as the American Association of Senior Citizens) is a right-of-center seniors’ advocacy organization founded by Jim Martin in 1992. 60 Plus promotes advocacy towards addressing senior citizens issues such as access to healthcare and social security as well as advocating in favor of ending the federal estate tax (also known as the “death tax”). The group has also advocated for right-of-center policy towards increased U.S-based energy production, passing the Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act, and withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization
