The burrito ramen discourse from conservatives wouldn’t be relevant if it didn’t take fifteen rounds of interview to compete for a job with intolerable arrogance from undeserving employers, and subsequent inability to build wealth. Economy isn’t free and there’s no meritocracy. Maybe deliver the minimum of providing an even playing field for intelligent and ambitious young before lecturing them about saving money on luxuries like Taco Bell.
(Also quite absurd for people with sinecures at conservative media who’ve never worked a real job to do the Jack Kemp act yet again.)
In this case the intelligent and ambitious young and especially white men 18-25 are the only plausible future of the country that doesn’t end in a slum plus nursing home stagnant outhouse and can be the human basis of an advanced future. The problem is in the end conservatives haven’t delivered the bare minimum of liberal society, meritocracy. Maybe they’re unable to but I see little evidence it’s been their concern. And without the kind of reform that reestablishes some of the freedom and opportunity of eg American economy 1890-1930 all efforts will have been evanescent.
@nonregemesse I was in Split recently. It is among the more perfect and beautiful med vacation destinations in the world. Trogir is a short boat ride away.
@EleonoraFall True, but isn't tourism what keeps these postcard looking places from turning into a Carrefour parking lot or a ghost town? Beauty like this is a class transaction. Without rich outsiders paying to preserve it like Santorini, the lavender fields would maybe be solar farms.
People focus on ChatGPT’s annoyingly obsequious personality, but the more annoying feature, in my view, is that it now treats everything it tells you, however basic, as “the key” or “the tricky part” or “where it gets complex” or the “thing people misunderstand.”
This very big crisis. Coming to position that maybe more urgent and important than even immigration is the discrimination and exclusion of intelligent white men from USA leading institutions. Many lives being ruined and stalled right now
@PalmyrPar More upsetting still that there's so little interesting film work for these two that they are agreeing to be cast into yet another superhero slopfest.
I'm a millennial but obsessed with the Gen x soft club aesthetic. Balearic trance music, techno-optimism, airport lounge music, Ibiza Café del Mar, Super Mario Sunshine, PS2, SSX Tricky, Télépopmusik, Windows 98, Final Fantasy X, Imogen Heap.
They’re obviously trying to meme her into a safe horny libtard cultural juggernaut with some made-up social justice sinecure in the works but they did a surprisingly decent job with the photography.
All photography now is either indie sleaze throwback or slick flat fashion slop that’s supposed to be an ironic metacommentary on visual artifice but is really just a skill issue.
Protip: when modern women complain about social or family or male pressure over dating/marriage/pregnancy/weight/beauty standards etc etc what they’re really talking about is their own personal anxieties or inner voice of conscience intervening in their lifestyle hedonism in such a way that it MUST be pawned off on external sources or else the cognitive dissonance would be too much
