@Shaun_Fosmark I agree, it's difficult to grasp the essence of the idea from a short statement. But if the idea is that a particle is some kind of energy cycle, then that's also not true: energy is a higher-level concept than a particle.
@martinmbauer If we move from your general, unfounded, yet so optimistic hypothesis to specifics, everything falls apart. Only carbon, with its specific connectivity, can be the basis of life. It can only fulfill its function with a given set and values of the universal constants.
A favorite trick of "theories" is to call the universe a part of it.
The universe is everything that exists. Not a phase of a cycle, but the entire cycle.
And the "theory" immediately ceases to do what it was invented for: explain why the universe exists.
@Kekius_Sage Why manipulate a mirror, brain, or the names of hands. Simply trace the paths of photons from your body parts through the mirror to your eyes, and all the obscurities will become trivial.
@phaseshiftone@Shaun_Fosmark You just declared an obvious everyday truth that there is time (clocks) and space (distances). If to define reality some gzirmlen (hrlpronds) would be needed, you would declare it in the same obvious way. But nothing third is not here. Why?
@kekius9 A good move, but not quite right. The concept of "nothing" is an artificial term, invented for communication purposes. It has no real representation. In reality, only that which is part of something exists. Nothing can't be part of something. Only what exists exists.

Creation is an event in time. But if time exists, then it is not nothing.

@kekius9 This is a fitting of the problem—baryon asymmetry—to the answer: the observed existence of the universe. But baryon asymmetry is just a fragment of a more general (and far more impressive) problem of fine-tuning. Dig in that direction.
