Should Jeff Bezos eat the Mona Lisa? This question might appear ridiculous. It has, however, the potential to reveal all sorts of issues regarding the dazzling meaninglessness of the post-digital age.

Here's my latest article for Diggit Magazine, written in the context of a course I followed as part of my studies at @arches_ua โค๏ธ

How would #DaVinci feel about the endless online transformations, commodifications and memefications of 'his' #MonaLisa? This article uses the concept of 'imitatio' to analyze the participatory practices of the Mona Lisa Clan on /r/Place.

2 books on digital constitutionalism summarised in 30'! ๐ป๐ค thanks to @diggitmagazine for this opportunity to discuss how constitutionalism is evolving to face the challenges of the digital society ๐๐ฅ
It was such a pleasure to talk with @EdoCeles about 'digital constitutionalism' and 'internet bills of rights'. His research is extremely interesting and relevant for anyone who focusses on #BigTech and the (re)distribution of #power in post-digital society.
While constitutions protect people against the power of state actors, they don't speak to the #BigTech corporations that rule the internet and act as judges over their digital subjects. @EdoCeles discusses the "constitutional moment" we're currently in.

Closing ceremony. Thanks to the wonderful organizing team, plenary speakers and all participants for a great #ADDA4 conference. Really excited about the Tilburg team carrying on the ADDA tradition in spring of 2025 #ADDA5
Fellow PhD student Jan Dijsselbloem asks his audience at #ADDA4 what these emojis mean ๐คทโโ๏ธ any ideas? (and argues that only if we already know the sentence 'behind' these emojis, we'de be able to read these emojis in a particular way)
Archives are anything but impartial records of our shared pasts. In this video, Melvin Wevers from @UvA_Amsterdam talks about #DigitalHistory, and explains how archives are often incomplete and imbued with biases and #inequality

Twee jaar werkten universitair docenten Jan Jaap de Ruiter en Max Spotti samen met een team van Tilburgse en internationale wetenschappers aan een project over fake news. Resultaat is een lesmodule die studenten leert fake news te analyseren en herleiden:

Inspired by my beloved #Tilburg, conversations with @ProfSwanenberg about the city's #localidentity and @SuzieThomasUA's course about #heritageparticipation, I analysed discourse about The blue building and found that there's more than meets the (sore) eye https://t.co/9TUXrLNFA9
