The First AI-Generated Video That Looks Super Real
Microsoft Research announced VASA-1.
It takes a single portrait photo and speech audio and produces a hyper-realistic talking face video with precise lip-audio sync, lifelike facial behavior, and naturalistic head movements generated in real-time.
This is amazing, given that the AI-generated video looks very real!
Of course, these examples will likely be cherry-picked, but this is still amazing.
My favorite use-case for this tech is to revive old actors like Cary Grant in new movies with this tech :)
Been waiting for this to publish: @OpenTofuOrg responds to HashiCorp's cease-and-desist letter. https://t.co/i9x3T5Ghlo
This answers my concerns, and I appreciate how thoughtful, fair, and *kind* it is. I was hasty in my judgment, and am grateful for their generous reply.
A key concept of SRE is to give people time to work on the technical debt - to engineer problems away. But developers also need to have some skin in the game: good practice is to allocate 10%-15% of your sprint capacity to addressing technical debt.
When I work with enterprises on modernizing their operations functions, I typically encounter an ever-increasing amount of technical debt. Unless you make a deliberate effort to identify and manage technical debt, you will never be able to catch up.
I intend to post an article each week. As a starter, I am posting two articles, one on SLI / SLO / SLA and another on Error Budget.
I hope you enjoy the read and looking forward to your comments.
