This morning, the state of South Australia received something deeply moving from Holocaust survivor, Andrew Steiner.
It’s a handmade statue of Andrew with a note saying:
“On the 16th of October 1944, as an 11 year old boy, I was standing with my hands raised waiting to be executed.
Here I am……. ”
81 years later, Andrew spends his time at the Adelaide Holocaust Museum, sharing his survival story to students to combat antisemitism.
We want more young people to understand where antisemitism leads, and why it is never acceptable in our state.
Andrew has a simple but powerful message:
“Children are not born with hatred.
It’s an acquired habit.
Never hate anybody, treat everybody the way you wish to be treated.”
There’s so much we can learn from it.
And by expanding our funding to the Museum, Andrew’s message can reach more students than ever before.
It's time to drive gender equity in #STEMM.

The world needs science, and great science is built on talent and ideas from different backgrounds, cultures and genders.
Lets work together to make sure science is as diverse as the world needs.

Poisonous mushrooms appear across SA just after heavy rain in autumn/winter. South Australians are reminded to keep an eye on their children and pets to avoid eating wild mushrooms. Play it safe and only eat mushrooms that have been purchased from a green-grocer or supermarket.

People arguing that yesterday's average maximum temperature of 41.9C can't be our hottest day ever because they remember days 45C plus is like arguing that Bradman's average couldn't possibly be 99.94 because he scored 334 that one time.
