Happy 155th birthday Alfred Lucas! Appointed Chemist for the Egyptian Antiquities Service, he was able to put his expertise in cleaning and conserving antiquities to good use when he was lent by the Service to Howard Carter during the excavation of the tomb of Tutankhamun.
