As a live2d rigger, and I think many other riggers will also agree, we will give you the right file but just know it will most likely be extra. You paid for rigging which is often hundreds of hours of work but from the comments it looks like you didn’t pay for the rig file. But let’s do some math. Let’s say 160 hours of work for a rig. That’s like full time, 1 month (which would be for an average rig nothing too crazy). They said they paid $2000 I believe. $2000 divided by 160 hours is $12.5/hour. Which is about the same as a McDonald’s employee starting. But this is part of why the rigs are expensive. You are paying upfront for like a month or more of labor. And now you want all of our techniques and physics settings we’ve spent years developing to just be included? Nope. That’s extra. Simple as that.

I understand you are frustrated bc your rigger disappeared on you. That really sucks and they suck for doing that. And I agree that if they were going to just up and disappear then they could have given you the rig file since they’re leaving you out to dry. And if they aren’t even rigging anymore they shouldn’t care about hatekeeping the file. But to think that we should all just give the rig file as a standard would only raise the prices of rigs, which would price even more people out of getting a model.

So, the best solution is just having the rig file as an added option so that it doesn’t price people out that don’t care to have it. And if you are concerned about your rigger getting too busy or ghosting you then you can go for that option. Also personally, if I knew I couldn’t do your rig commission but you needed it, I’d be okay giving my rig file to another rigger I trusted bc I couldn’t service you in a timely fashion. I feel like most riggers would be okay with it too. We aren’t all trying to scam you, we are protecting ourselves and businesses bc just like you, a lot of us have been burned in the past. You have your trauma, we have ours. But in all honesty idk if your actually looking for a solution and instead just crashing out on twitter lol
