A woman I know found out her coworkers had a group chat without her.
Not unusual. Happens all the time.
What made it different was that she was the one training most of them.
Helping with resumes. Covering shifts. Fixing mistakes quietly so no one got written up.
She found out by accident when someone sent a screenshot to the wrong thread.
Her name was in it.
Not in a dramatic way.
Just jokes. Eye rolls. “She tries too hard.” “Why does she act like the boss?”
The next day she showed up the same. Smiled. Helped. Answered questions.
But she stopped volunteering.
Stopped staying late.
Stopped reminding people about deadlines.
Three months later the department was a mess.
Management asked her why she wasn’t “stepping up” like before.
She said, calmly, “I realized I was the only one who thought we were a team.”
That’s it.
No confrontation. No meltdown.
Just withdrawal.
And the wild part?
People only notice your value when you stop giving it for free.
@DrGithiria Primate mating preferences are hierarchical. Female primates prefer mating with the dominant male at the top of the hierarchy. Since hunting and fighting are no longer key dominance signals, economic status and race have become modern proxies. It’s evolutionary biology.
When you’re going through hell in marriage, people ask “what about your family?”
By that they mean the family you’re born into. They mean where is your support. They mean where are your people.
But when you’re having a blissful union, you’re expected to just focus on your new family. There lies the problem. Running a a me and my partner system is a gross dysfunction.
You wouldn’t give a child a rare, expensive diamond necklace or heirloom expecting them to know its value, and take good care of it. You’d wait until they’re older, wiser, more mature, and responsible enough to understand what they’ve been given. If that day never comes, you’d let them look, but you wouldn’t let them touch because you know certain things can’t be appreciated until someone’s developed enough to recognise their worth. A child likely wouldn’t even care for it. Tossing it aside for something inexpensive that matches their current level of understanding. They wouldn’t even realise they’ve just thrown away something priceless. That’s the exact same thing that happens when you give yourself to someone who isn’t mentally, emotionally, or spiritually mature enough to value you properly. You hand over something rare to someone who only knows how to play with what’s easy, accessible, and disposable.
@AIRTEL_KE You guys have been unable to fix an issue that I have raised for over a month and a half. Why is it that I can't text anyone that is not on your network? Why have you locked my texts? I am heartbroken but I got to ditch you guys. I have been a very loyal client
@AIRTEL_KE Lulu zile briefs nimefanya ni mingi sana nikachoka. There is nothing more than what I have already said. I can't text to any other network, because I don't know why. I have raised enough tickets with your customer care, with no resolution and no solution.
When missionaries brought Christianity to Africa, they also brought this white image of Jesus It made Africans see holiness as white and their own features as unholy. This created psychological slavery worshipping the image of the oppressor as God.
“Yaani tumefika statehouse? Ata Uhuru hakutuleta uku, enyewe Wantam ni wewe, Tutam siku zote, hapa ni wapi, 2027 ni Tutam paka mwisho.”
These words broke me, man. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how simply visiting a building and eating 🥣 lunch there, a lunch funded by your own taxes, is enough reason for someone to be elected. How can my countrymen auction their lives for 30 pieces of silver?
The event is now over, and you’re back to your real life in your neighborhood, where hospitals have no medication, healthcare is unaffordable, schools are falling apart, crime is soaring, and drug abuse is at its peak. You have nothing meaningful to keep you occupied.
So tell me, how did your visit to State House for an event funded by your taxes change your life? Are we justifying mediocrity simply because we visited a place we once thought we’d never set foot in? Or are we seriously excusing someone who has committed countless wrongs against you and your kins just so they can be re-elected?
Ebu mnielimishe 🥲
No Arab Imam preaches in a European tongue.
No Chinese monk chants in Swahili.
No Hindu priest prays in Arabic.
Only in Africa is the Creator approached through a foreign language, foreign books, and foreign names.
Religion is nothing but culture dressed up in superstition. Arabs stick to Islam, Chinese to Buddhism, Indians to Hinduism, Europeans to Christianity. Yet Africans are the only ones desperate enough to hunt for God beyond their own traditions.
Men love submissive, respectful and women who are not nagging. Let me break it down; don’t ask a man where he was, with who, if he does not volunteer that info, he doesn’t want you to know and that’s okay. Do not challenge him. Offer him what he needs. Over to you chefs 😂😂
