What you see here is the #1 secret to sales success whether you're on a Zoom call or in person.
Want to know what it is?
Listening.
That's the secret.
Any guesses on what the #2 secret is? I'll tell you if you get it.
What a treat and an honor to be chosen to serve on the 2024 StoryBrand Guide Advisory Board. This will be my 3rd year on the board, and it's been such a privilege to work alongside the rock stars 🤩 at StoryBrand HQ to serve the Guide Community.
Cheers to a great year ahead!
What's at stake if your customers choose NOT to buy from you?
Your #tuesdaytip: If what you sell is the difference between failure and success for people, don't keep that information to yourself. Include the stakes on your website's homepage, in emails, social posts, and blogs.
How do you ask your customers for a review? This used to be something we would routinely forget to do but now we've built asking for reviews into our workflow with clients. I'm interested in how and when you ask for reviews and client feedback.
Congratulations to these StoryBrand Superstars!

Make sure your website header gives visitors a clear idea of what you offer, how you make their lives better, and what they need to do to buy it.
Help these nice people avoid going on a wild goose chase for information so they have time to say yes to your offer.

Have you done this yet? Share a Spotify playlist of all the podcasts you've been on. OYou never know when someone will listen to it and contact you because they liked what you had to say.

Speak directly to your website visitors when writing your website copy. Last I checked, Apple's iPhone page uses YOU or YOUR 21 times. Another idea for a quick self-check: Compare how many times you spy I, we, me, my, mine, our, or ours on your homepage vs. you, your, or yours.
If your ideas are presented clearly, your listeners will have the brain space they need to take action. Even if your product is superior, your customers will choose the inferior product with a clear message every single time.
Want a sneak peek of the tail end of a brand message presentation call? This snippet is from the end of the call after I shared the updated brand message with their team.
This kind of response is one of the reasons I love doing what I do. #clarityislikechristmas
Recommendations are powerful when they occur within a trusted relationship.
In a recent conversation, I mentioned our journey with my Nocci blender client.
In a recent email a few minutes ago, the client added this to the end.
"By the way, I ordered a Nocci, pink!"
Well, this was just plain FUN! A huge thank you to the AMA - University of South Carolina for inviting me to come out last night and speak to their group about creating a personal brand.
Business owners who are highly specialized, especially in the realm of tech, don't know how to talk about it with others.
Angela is one of those highly specialized folks.
Head over to sorticulturesystems (dot) com to check out her gorgeous new site with a crystal clear message.
Your #tuesdaytip: If your email list or your followers on social media are growing in super slow-mo, don't fret. Big numbers aren't a ticket to success, and little numbers don't mean you're not going to crush your revenue goals for the year.
All you need are the RIGHT people.
These are actual photos of my coaching group during the September StoryBrand Marketing Livestream showing exactly how it feels to transform your brand message from CONFUSING to CLEAR.

Just because you like it and think it has value doesn't mean your customer will. You're not your customer and your customer isn't you. Listen to these awesome people and learn what they think is valuable so when you write and design stuff for them it'll hit the mark.
