@douglaswolk I signed up for Marvel Unlimited and the amazing All of the Marvels message board https://t.co/SyG0sdRnIm and became emotionally attached to Squirrel Girl in ways that I never anticipated.
@geauxta Quick: oatmeal with nuts or nut butter. Toast with nut butter. Or, my personal favorite “shit I didn’t eat all day because depression” meal: a banana split that has just enough ice cream but includes at least 1 banana, a fistful of nuts, peanut butter, + more fruit if I have it.
@RunBarbara It took us a few times with Anne; at ages 10 and 11 it finally took, and then we had to read the whole series. And then we got deep into questions: is Anne 1) autistic (yes, likely), 2) trans (not canonically, but I can get behind that reading) 3) gay (obvs, but it’s complicated)
@phillipsevy I attacked mine with a giant angry duck who laid exploding eggs last week.
I used the stat block for a t-rex, which pleased me.
Also, there was a giant golden statue— something of a war memorial, perhaps— featuring more giant ducks.
@NotLasers (And the other day I painted this little rainbow on my shed, because I was too exhausted and upset to do much else, and the world needs all the rainbows it can get.)
@NotLasers At work, I am finding ways to hire marginalized artists, craftspeople, and tradespeople to make my place even more full of inspiring spaces to nurture and express creativity and community. I can’t fix the world, but I have a great deal of control over this little corner. 🌈 📚
