Congratulations to #TeamTaiwan for taking gold at the #Premier12 after a tough game against Japan. Although I was in a meeting here in Canada during the game, my heart was with our team & all the Taiwanese fans. No matter where we are, us Taiwanese always get behind our team!
Lin Yu-Ting has won the Olympic gold medal against all odds! Her triumph in the ring is not just a testament to her unparalleled skill and dedication as a boxer, but also a powerful vindication of her character. Despite the unjust and baseless accusations questioning her gender eligibility, she has risen above the slander with grace and strength. We celebrate not just her win, but the unwavering spirit she embodies. #BoxingQueenLinYuTing
Lin Yu-Ting was born female and has complied with all applicable medical regulations set by the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit. There is an astounding amount of evidence (her social security number, pictures from her childhood, gender checks from various boxing competitions) that proves Lin Yu-Ting is a biological female. Yet up till now, the IBA has not provided any evidence for their false accusations. Their tests were flawed and illegitimate.
Lin Yu-Ting was born a woman. She has been female since birth. She is participating in the boxing tournament at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with her strength and has complied with all applicable medical regulations set by the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit, which have been consistently applied throughout all qualification events.
Lin Yu-Ting is a victim of the sudden and arbitrary decision by the IBA. Up to now, the IBA has not provided any evidence. The IBA should establish a legitimate and clear gender testing procedure, instead of repeatedly and baselessly claiming that “Taiwan is a part of China.”
This cannot erase the fact that Lin Yu-Ting represents Taiwan as a female athlete.
We reiterate that everyone has the right to participate in sports without discrimination. Moreover, anyone who supports the rights of female athletes should stand against this bullying behavior.
The attack on Lin Yu-Ting is a form of international bullying. But she never gives up, and she has reached the final despite the eligibility dispute.
“The more we’re bullied, the stronger we become.”
We, the Taiwanese people, will always stand with her and be her strongest support. 💪
