Pre-K Aide Charged in Alleged Decade-Long Child Rape.

A 43-year-old man from Somers Point, New Jersey, who works as a pre-kindergarten teacher's aide, now faces 16 charges after authorities say he sexually assaulted multiple children over more than ten years.

Shaun M. Stebbins was arrested March 29th by Somers Point police and is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Court records show the charges include first-degree aggravated sexual assault of victims under 13, plus counts for photographing a child in a explicit act, permitting a child to engage in explicit acts, endangering the welfare of a child, showing obscene material to a minor, and criminal sexual contact.

Investigators say the alleged abuse involved four siblings from the same family and took place in Somers Point between 2014 and December 2025. The kids were all under 13 at the time, and Stebbins had a caregiving role with them.

Stebbins started working at Woodbine Elementary School in Cape May County back in 2022. He was named the school's paraeducator of the year for the 2024-2025 school year. Officials stress that none of the alleged victims were his students and no complaints have surfaced at the school.

Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds said the office is "deeply concerned" there could be more victims who haven't come forward yet.
