Postpartum psychosis & depression deserve much more attention than they get:
1)Harmful to mother/baby/their bonding
2)Significant suicide/violence risk
3)Screening for psych symptoms should be routine part of all perinatal care
4)Very treatable, especially if caught early

So much of what we assume is “mental health” is rooted in racism & pseudoscience of psychiatry that began “post” slavery. As we witness the derailing of our health infrastructure it will be up to us to build alternatives. We must learn from the past!
