Say this to yourself today:
I will not allow my pain to bury my potential.
I will become the man I know I am capable of becoming.
I will heal, rebuild, and keep moving with purpose.
I will give myself the chance to experience the life I keep imagining.
My story is not over.
We are deeply saddened by the news of the woman rescued after reportedly jumping into the Lagos lagoon. Moments like this remind us why mental health awareness and early support matter.
As a platform focused on mens mental health we also carry women and every human life at heart.
This is exactly the kind of pain we hope to prevent through awareness, compassion, and timely support. We are grateful her life wasn't lost and sincerely hope she receives the care, support, and healing she needs.
Mental health is not a gender issue it's a human issue.

FG Marks Nigeria’s First World Brain Day, Begins Development of National Brain Health Agenda
Abuja, Nigeria | 22 July 2026
The Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, has marked Nigeria’s first commemoration of World Brain Day by commencing the development of the country’s first National Brain Health Agenda, a landmark framework that will guide national priorities for brain health, strengthen governance and expand access to quality brain health services.
The announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Ms. Daju Kachollom, mni, during the World Brain Day 2026 commemoration in Abuja, themed “Brain Health: Access for All.” She also announced the establishment of a Brain Health Desk under the National Mental Health Programme to coordinate national brain health policy and the inclusion of World Brain Day in the Ministry’s annual calendar of national health commemorations.
Daju said the National Brain Health Agenda will serve as Nigeria’s first comprehensive framework for advancing brain health across the life course by strengthening governance, informing investments, promoting research and innovation, expanding workforce capacity, improving access to quality services and fostering multisectoral collaboration. The Agenda will also align Nigeria’s efforts with the WHO Intersectoral Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and Other Neurological Disorders (IGAP) 2022-2031.
She noted that the initiatives reinforce the Federal Government’s commitment to improving brain health under the Renewed Hope Agenda and the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative, adding that strengthening brain health is critical to achieving Universal Health Coverage.
“The Federal Government recognises that investing in brain health is not merely a health priority; it is an investment in Nigeria’s human capital, economic resilience and sustainable development,” Daju said.
The Permanent Secretary added that institutionalising World Brain Day will sustain public awareness and strengthen coordinated national action on brain health.
The Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), represented at the event, said the Ministry, through the Agency, has trained more than 4,000 primary healthcare workers to strengthen first-level care through improved detection, initial management and referral of neurological conditions under ongoing Primary Health Care Revitalisation efforts.
Representatives of international and local partners, including the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), CBM Global, the Brain and Spine Initiative and the Nigerian Society of Neurological Sciences (NSNS), commended Nigeria for commemorating World Brain Day for the first time and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting more inclusive brain and mental healthcare through stronger partnerships and expanded access to quality care.
Not every father had all the answers. Some simply chose to keep showing up.
Today, we honor the men who carried burdens in silence, loved through sacrifice, and kept going despite their struggles.
To every father and father figure, thank you.
