RECORD 65 CREWS ENTER 2026 SHELL V-POWER PEARL OF AFRICA UGANDA RALLY

Mbarara, Uganda– The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) confirms a watershed moment for Ugandan rallying: 65 crews have officially entered the 2026 Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, set for 7th to 10th May 2026 in Mbarara, Western Uganda.

This shatters all previous entry records for the event and signals Uganda’s growing stature on the continental motorsport stage.

Key Facts:
65 Total Entries, highest in Pearl Rally history
23 Crews registered for FIA African Rally Championship (ARC) points in ARC & ARC2 categories.
- Champions Return to Home Soil
Leading the 23-crew ARC charge is Uganda’s own defending African Champion, Moil Rally Team’s Yasin Nasser navigated by Ali Katumba. The Ford Fiesta R5 crew are out to maximize home-ground advantage during the three-day showdown in Mbarara, as they hunt crucial points to defend their 2025 FIA African Rally Championship crown.
Strong Foreign Contingent: Mkwawa Rally Team’s Ahmed Huwel from Tanzania has already embarked on his journey to Uganda, among other regional entries expected
