The Danger of Knowledge Without Character by Epictetus, Discourses.
Knowledge and ability can be valuable tools for personal growth and success. However, when these qualities are acquired by people who lack education, wisdom, or strong character, they can sometimes become harmful rather than beneficial. This is because knowledge alone does not guarantee good judgment.
A person of weak character may become proud and overconfident after gaining a new skill or ability. Instead of using it with humility and responsibility, they may begin to believe that they know more than they actually do. This excessive confidence can lead them to make poor decisions, ignore advice, and underestimate their own limitations.
Whatever we do in life is ultimately driven by the pursuit of happiness, regardless of the nature of the action. Even those who engage in wrongdoing do so too.
No one knowingly does evil or harms themselves. Therefore, before criticizing others based on surface-level impressions or actions, try to understand what led them to act that way.

Today there are societies that are very developed materially, yet among them there are many people who are not very happy. Just underneath the beautiful surface of affluence there is a kind of mental unrest, leading to frustration, unnecessary quarrels, reliance on drugs or alcohol, and in the worst case, suicide. So there is no guarantee that wealth alone can give you the joy or fulfillment that you are seeking.
