Dont know who is going to win but India is not going to compete.
Forget frontier or 3 trillion param scale (Kimi K3), no Indian co even tries to ship a 500B param coding focused model that is even in top 20.
All we hear is our model can speak or respond in multiple indian languages.
The "i" in Ai is for intelligence not for translation.

Its not about money or infra either, Is reliance or Adani or TCS or infosys poor than Moonshot Ai, Minimax or even Deepseek Ai ?
No CCP didnt back them up till they were successful.

I see two problems first lack of aspiration to compete where it matters (coding and video).
Second is lack of data. We are happy to give up videos and images to youtube, emails to google, upload PDFs to GPT, code to claude and codex without no data policy even trying to regulate.

So when our Ai bill exceeds oil import this will continue. Until then we might be using whatever US commerce dept and chinese regulations allows India to use.

After going through all benchmarks i think Opus 5 does make Anthropic more usable for coding.
Comparing intelligence/cost is really tricky as we dont know exact rate limit quotas or token cost.
On paper Opus does seem expensive.
In my usecase i exhausted weekly limit for claude with a single prompt for Opus 5.
It did substantial work completed around 4-5 tasks from my plan before leaving me hanging mid task for the week.
Overall i dont think it makes much of a difference for us unless it competes with Sol or Kimi K3 on intelligence/cost.
Most importantly comparing scores from benchmarks doesnt make it automatically better for all our tasks.

Opus medium is scoring way higher compared to Opus high
