After Del Monte filed for bankruptcy, peach farmers were left with contracts that suddenly vanished.

Now the USDA is paying growers around $9 million to rip out roughly 3,000 acres of peach trees, about half a million trees, and convert the land to other crops.

Farmers say they were told their contracts were safe. Now they’re watching trees get torn out and burned.

The lost revenue is estimated at over $500 million.

One company collapses… and suddenly thousands of acres of food production are being deliberately destroyed.
