This month @insecurityhits..Genre Is Death are playing the Midwest. Pop Music Fever Dream a playing the South. Frida Kill are playing the West Coast. If we keep this up some might start to think of us a legitimate organization, not just a niche brand performance art page!!!
We’re becoming one of those annoying people from the Pacific Northwest that swear up and down they are actually happy when it rains and there’s a bit of chill in the air!
Security at the venue asked us to turn our jacket inside out at the show to avoid confusion. Even though everyone there knows we are the label working with the headlining act we complied but immediately started plotting how we were going to grandstand off this on social media!!!
When we were summoned by a nearby concert goer at Fontaines DC to assist their friend who was about to collapse from exhaustion it dawned on us again that our branding may be too good for our own good. We then flagged down real security and went on to enjoy the rest of the show!
Some of our releases include “Kill The Imposter,” Kill! Kill!” “Fuck.” We have vinyl releases from Tits Dick Ass and Frida Kill. Have an upcoming tape release with Genre Is Death! Insecurity Hits is failing miserably at gaming the algorithm!!!
So many highlights from @decolonisefest this year, one was getting to meet Sar from @stemchamp780 who came all the way from Canada after hearing about the fest through an @insecurityhits post! 💙
Was incredulous that people walked in front of me on the beverage line at Bikini Kill as if I wasn’t standing there but then they explained that they thought I was working the venue b/c of the Insecurity jacket and I realized yes that’s right and internally celebrated!!!
We are still buzzing from seeing @thebreeders and @Big_Joanie in Paris! The coffees and croissants there were manifique but it’s the first morning back in nyc so I’m having a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel!
Happy Juneteenth!!! We celebrate the freedom of our enslaved ancestors!!! Let’s also support freedom around the world in our time and do all we can to support the end of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza!!!
People I’ve seen today have all asked have you gone away somewhere like the Caribbean, Brazil, Portugal? Where did you get so much color? My answer…..Punk Island!!!
Writing accurate and entertaining press releases describing the music we put out is truly our calling! There is some good stuff about to hit the inboxes of y’all media peeps!!!
FRIDA KILL had 34 adds on radio and overwhelmingly positive comments from programmers! There was one station that thought their music was “too crunchy.” This just confirms their music is the right kind of crunchy for us!!
