We are on a temporary hiatus. During this time, our talks will continue. Changing the culture of mental health in academia. Articles. Speaking. Coaching.
While we take a temp. break from producing new articles, we will be recapping all those from series 2
Take a look at all the pieces we have online. They could be a great resource to help you, if you need it.

After 4.5 years we have taken the decision to shut Inside Academia down (our talks will continue).
Operating a 1 person voluntary venture has been a lot (a lot) of work, but I hope that we managed to improve the culture around mental health in academia
We hope to be back soon!
This sort of thing troubles me, a fair amount
The focus of a post doc, PhD, MSc, or any research, should not be papers. Research is about discovery, trial & error, troubleshooting &, most importantly development & learning
Focus on those, and inevitably the papers will follow…
Tune in from ANYWHERE!🌍

Change is happening (I think, I hope), but is it happening quick enough.
A mental-health crisis is gripping science — toxic research culture is to blame https://t.co/ff6RhnPANt
Had a lovely chat with @shoreseashell and the @earth_youth discussing some of the research we do, career trajectories and the work @InsideAcademic has been doing on mental health in the academic world.
Check it out below!
Not too sure I am fond of the terminology, but the idea that academics/researchers are taking back control of their work-life arrangements is great.

A lot of comments in this thread.
Personally, I think ‘paying’ PhDs a non-living amount of money is one of the more serious problems within the system.
Bare in mind. PhDs will be expected/required, to do teaching, marking etc & won’t be paid a penny for it…
We have been very quiet of late, with other projects etc - but we will be back soon & with some very cool updates. So stay tuned!
We are now looking for authors for series 4 of our article campaign - see attached & please retweet :)

Awesome illustration on the salary of PhD students. Nordic countries provide the best living conditions to PhD students!
We need to provide ideal living conditions to these talented people worldwide, not just in a few countries!

… and people wonder why PhDs are so stressful and pressurised? Part of the reason being that the majority of researchers are struggling to live, let alone do work.
