To my fellow conservatives, I understand what you mean when you say you believed racism was dead at one point "until Obama." What you're echoing is that quote by Thomas Sowell that racism isn't dead, but it's on life support.

Here’s my thoughts:

"It wasn't dead. There just wasn't social media, so they didn't have access to it, didn't see it, and had no national conversations about it. The people who experienced it experienced it. The people who didn't didn't, and nobody was expected to adopt or live the trauma of others. That said, I understand what he's saying. A bunch of men and women like those he pointed to were accepted and loved long before Hollywood, pundits, politicians, and activists told everyone they were racist and needed to be told at every turn that they hated black actors, music, etc. What's funny is that the racism in these circles is populated by leftists, democrats, and neo-con elites, but the lecturing is done against the average citizen who worships these celebrities. When you combine the negative effects of social media, the 24/7 media cycle, and the politicians, pundits, and activists, we end up here."

Influencers, activists, pundits, and politicians on both sides of the aisle carry the responsibility for where our national dialog is presently. There is nothing about solutions, just nonstop griftery, trolling, and engagement farming. They're wholly responsible for pushing hyperbolic racial narratives that don't reflect the attitudes of the vast majority of Americans. They're so busy arguing with each other that they either don't realize or don't care that they're lending credence to the worst and most nefarious voices and ideologies because they refuse to recognize even the most basic level of nuance. Their only metric is personal advancement, fame, and money fed by clicks, likes, shares, views, and subscribership.

The past few days have been a whirlwind after launching my book on @megynkelly's show. The messages of support are still flooding in — hundreds of them. I've gained over 1K new followers here on X. My book is still in the top 50 of all books sold on Amazon (out of over 20 million). I'm doing another podcast tonight and tomorrow I'm speaking with a journalist from a high-profile publication.

Without a life grounded in prayer and meditation, I guarantee you, my head would've exploded by now. I owe so much to the few close friends in my life—including Jarvis—who help tether me to reality.

Since Tuesday, well over 2K copies of America Is the Poem have sold and the number keeps climbing.

That's a staggering amount of poetry books to sell in a short period of time. Had I gone with a traditional publisher, I'd be lucky to get a 10% royalty on each copy sold. Since I published it myself, I take most of the royalties.

I'm determined to keep the momentum going without annoying the hell out of my followers!

Things are looking up and up and up.
