Reminds me of the 1980s - I can’t remember exactly when - when ‘Moriarty’ was the watchword (moratorium on training expenditure). No blank ammo for training so had to run around Otterburn, Catterick etc shouting ‘banana, banana, banana’ to simulate firing - with ‘Bunch of bananas’ the accepted shout for a machine gun……

Andy, I think your induction period is over. The ‘whenIwoz Mayor of Manchester’ playbook is wearing thin. Time to step up and be the PM and deal with the big issues facing this country rather than those impacting a handful (sad as it may be). Time to show that you have a strategic vision and intent. @DPJHodges One could argue that the failure of the other main parties to stand candidates in the Clacton by election meant they had no way of defining their own benchmarks against the perceived decline of Reform. Own goal for them in my view.
