SCIENCE DESERVES CELEBRATION.
I'm proud to announce the most important project of my career so far:
VOLUME 1: the first-ever researcher-creative art exhibition in SF.
Opening night (Nov 17th) celebrates 10 researchers who translate their work beyond papers into physical artifacts, fashion, and interfaces.
Growing up, I was inspired by the Renaissance and The World’s Fair, moments in time that made science tangible and worth exhibiting. When I was at MIT, the Media Lab was this magical place where science and art coexisted and technology was made into beautiful artifacts.
This year, researchers have been pummeled by grant freezes, funding cuts, and apathy toward an entire generation of scientists. The Media Lab was not spared. In a time where people are skeptical, even fearful, of science, the only way forward is by making it tangible and beautiful.
Come meet the people working on science you can touch, hold, and share. RSVP below.
Turns out Waterloo is also an art school.
Meet the Prismwrights.
@prismcollectiv_ is a collective of scientists bending code and hardware into exhibits: waterbending, kinetic creatures, bass-playing robots.
This is a story about engineering as art. Full piece below.
hi everyone, we’re so excited to invite you to the PRISM Project Launch! ✨
we will be unveiling 2 interactive installations we’ll be building this term! 🤖
come by to see what we’re creating, and decide if you’d like to join :)
behind the scenes of what @oliviazhg & i made for @HackTheNorth this year :)
we made a fashion-tech statement piece on the concept of personal space, where kinetic petal components create a personal bubble, and LEDs alert both others and yourself when someone is too close.
PRISM is excited to be a part of @wlootechweek !
join us for a golden hour hangout to hear stories from individuals exploring the intersection between art & technology ✨
excited to see you there :)
