CSYF warned from the start: this was nothing but a damage-control exercise staged to ease pressure, not to deliver justice.
As expected, the outcome was already decided. On Feb 12, the same rejection was communicated through a letter.
No reopening. No relief. No accountability.
But what is truly disgraceful is the language reportedly used toward suffering candidates words that cut deep and exposed their real mindset:
“We can’t help you anymore. If we help 400, another 400 will line up. We cannot risk our friendship with government for a few OINP candidates.”
These are not just statements. They are confessions. Confessions that political access matters more than human lives.
Confessions that power is valued more than principle. Confessions that suffering people are expendable. They reduce human lives to numbers and openly admit that access to power is being prioritized over the community’s most vulnerable.
Are these organizations meant to befriend politicians? Or to manage institutions? Or to stand with oppressed people?
OINP candidates are not files. Not numbers.
Not disposable labour. Workers who built this economy.Human beings who deserve dignity.
Stop using their pain for optics.
Stop hollow statements.
One Non-Negotiable Solutions:
BAN all Ruling Party MPs, MPPs, Ministers of Ontario from stepping foot on gurdwara stages or Sikh institutional platforms for political circus acts PERMANENTLY until justice is delivered.
