A year ago'We Will Teach' was published, telling stories of Channel Island women who trained at Salisbury Training College(now @SalisburyMuseum). We should never forget the hardships suffered by Channel Islanders under five long years of Nazi occupation.
@DorsetMuseum Hello Harriet great Tweet. Sorry we were unable to meet with you before the lockdown. We are working on our book but it’s tricky without access to first hand evidence. I am particularly interested in any letters sent to or from Kate during her years at College.
Best wishes
Anne
There were many strong women at Salisbury Teacher Training College. They worked hard but also enjoyed themselves, as on this trip to Stonehenge in 1922.
March 2nd was a special day for hundreds of former Salisbury Training College( later known as The College of Sarum St Michael)students-they were awarded honorary degrees by the University of Winchester. Salisbury Cathedral was packed. What a day to remember!
Thomas Harry’s sisters would have loved this view and walk across Harnham meadows when they were students at Salisbury Teacher Training College- now @salisburymuseum
