hot take romance is never truly great if the story is just about romance. the reason these romances are so loved is because its a naturally developing second thought that's not a goal but an inevitable outcome. and it deserves to be loved and praised for nailing that.

and they're absolutely good stories, i just don't know why i tend to skip paragraphs bc i feel like the pace gets a bit dragging? maybe it's just me or does anybody else feel like this 😭

i looove emily henry's writing like she has the best metaphors and the way she puts words together just tugs at my heart and gets all my feelings on the table but for some reason i always end up skimming thru chapters of her books? i've read pwmov, beach read, and happy place +
