It was subtle. Barely even perceptible if he hadn't known Nikolai beforehand.
But Samuel knew the difference between a normal person and someone who was 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮.

It was a whole different kind of art, a different kind of satisfaction settling nicely in his gut as Samuel watched someone else play with the food he'd already chewed up and spat out on the dirty concrete.
It was interesting, though. And really fucking gruesome.

that was the only thing he remembered before his vision blacked out.

He watched the way Nikolai's shoulders had went from its usual slight forward-slouch to its now squared state, like an animal that would pounce on Samuel if he had so much as moved his hand wrong.
