Great morning sessions of the #DPPC 2022 today. Maybe a little trapped down a government (navel gazing) culdesac in pre-lunch session - hopefully we get back on track in the afternoon. BTW - For standardised terms, shout out to OneDPA.
Really enjoyed the #DPPC2021 today. Good mix of topics for all levels, a couple of really useful nuggets of information, and ICO speakers were all on message (“we’re here to help”).
More growth for @redventures, this time from our RVU team across the pond. Another meaningful step forward in helping more people make life’s important decisions. Read our announcement here: https://t.co/0zz23n4RUv
Be warned that text messages like this one are already in circulation as the track & trace service launches. They are not genuine and anyone going to that website link will be asked to submit personal information that will then be used by fraudsters.

1 Does/could a data minimization for big data lead to more bias AI decisions? 2 How would/could we account for all biases - there are so many correlating factors AI might use we could surely never account for them (eg more bumps to the head for taller people - ie. men)?
I can’t help thinking the UK’s threat of 4% global turnover fines for access to a 70M audience, will discourage tech from investing/making access available in the UK - The risks vs reward are way off balance compared to EEA access for a 4% fine. #PrivSecLDN
Very interesting AI ethics in FS discussion at #PrivSecLDN, but (for me) too centred on the law/regulation - Surely ethics is more about the ‘court of public opinion’ than the ‘court of law’?
An 🇪🇺 #ePrivacy Regulation is needed but we think that an alternative approach should:
1️⃣Move away from the proposed narrow legal bases
2️⃣Apply #GDPR risk-based thinking
3️⃣Exclude non-privacy threats from its scope.

1/3 It is with the deepest regret that we announce the loss of Giovanni Buttarelli, the European Data Protection Supervisor. Giovanni passed away surrounded by his family in Italy, last night, 20 August 2019.
An interesting piece that should alarm all digital businesses. Are we danger of regulating the internet out of existence? We may only appreciate what we have once we've destroyed it. (link: https://t.co/4nMChI2CoS) https://t.co/BGlyDrWzx8… #privacy#GDPR#PECR#ePrivacy

@DISTIL Hi Distil. I'm working GDPR for a business using you guys and we're trying to confirm whether your DPA forms part of your standard T&Cs, or whether it has to be signed separately? Please confirm - Thanks, Mark
