BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
...
We are excited to announce the next stage in our organizational evolution. We are forming a board of directors and we are looking for volunteers to help shape this next chapter of Integrated Schools. https://t.co/nC2oqiob2r
Find your local chapter of Integrated Schools!!! Chapters provide a place for folks to talk & organize around local issues. Network Contacts are people who have chosen integration for their families, are ready to meet and talk with you about integration. https://t.co/8BMKDCmlZ3
We are committed to public schools, AND, like @ValeriaBrownEdu says, we know there’s tension there for marginalized families who are working hard to solve their Monday morning problems and simultaneously working hard to solve our generational problem of segregation and inequity.
This episode is part of our podcast playlist on intersectionality. Our podcast playlists group our episodes under a specific topic or theme, so that we can easily jump in and start learning more about integration work https://t.co/hp2jbBqJUb

Our advocacy focuses on the K-12 education system, and though this system is separate, higher ed directly influences K-12. This ruling just confirms what we already knew and shows us how much farther we have to go in building equity for everyone in our country.
As @LDH_ed Dr. Linda Darling-Hammond mentioned on the podcast a few months back... "Every city has a bird, a flag, and a desegregation case . . . "

This episode of @today_explained lays out the historical context of the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down affirmative action.
Its a good place to start if you don’t know the wider context of affirmative action in college admissions.
