Because Hollywood’s post-#OscarsSoWhite diversity mandates disproportionately benefit “black” women.

Every movie that casts her automatically has a Black woman at the top of the cast - instant "checkbox complete" for the Academy’s inclusion standards.

One lead or significant supporting actor from an underrepresented racial/ethnic group (explicitly including Black/African American) is enough to help satisfy the on-screen criteria.

Two out of four standards needed for Best Picture eligibility.

And since they DISHONESTLY lumped "women" into the "underrepresented" category, Zendaya in your cast gives you two points.

And she knows it too.

She has openly called herself “Hollywood’s acceptable version of a Black girl,” and acknowledged she doesn’t face the same struggles as darker-skinned actresses, thanks to colorism.

It’s genius, really.

Biracial, lighter-skinned women become the perfect cheat code for quotas...

...and darker black actresses get pushed to playing queens of every other continent BUT AFRICA.

"Celebrate diversity” is just code for "let your racism fly."
