Having impressed in both the Belgian league and the Champions League, Aleksandar Stankovic is attracting significant interest — particularly from the Premier League, where clubs are reportedly ready to offer as much as €40 million for his services.

Cristian Chivu, however, has made his stance clear. The Inter coach sees the young midfielder almost like a son, not only because of the long-standing bond between them, but also because of his relationship with Aleksandar’s father, Dejan Stankovic, dating back to their playing days together.

Chivu has known Aleksandar since birth and later helped shape him as a footballer during his time in Inter’s youth academy. For that reason, bringing him back through the buyback clause only to immediately resell him for a capital gain would be a difficult decision.

Such a move would make sense in only one scenario: if the money were needed to finance the signing of a top-level player - someone like Nico Paz, a dream target that Inter have never truly hidden. However, his future could be heavily influenced by José Mourinho, who is reportedly on the verge of becoming Real Madrid coach.
