We are developing an experimental "docking" GUI to help keep imitone in tune when multiple plugins and mics are in use. We expect a few quirks to pop up as people try this with different DAWs; don't hesitate to reach out if you run into trouble.

Testing @interactopia to transform your voice into any instrument. Here's a test where I'm "singing" Halo theme then whistling Jurassic Park. Apparently, I still need a lot of practice! 🤣
@davrous Tips to build up your fluency:
- Set a key and scale. Chromatic is "hard mode"!
(Jurassic Park starts in D Major)
- Make sure you can clearly hear both your own voice + the virtual instrument when singing. 🎧
- Raise the volume gate to tidy up beginnings/endings of sounds.

From Nov 21 to Feb 22, the twenty amazing artists here and I worked together through a series of workshops on tuning and music-making to explore the possibilities of expression and experimentation of their native cultures from across South East Asia
@Mimimiusername1 imitone studio can process distinct audio input channels into MIDI output channels. Essentially it can register one note at a time per microphone.
Our April Fools' day prank last year drove one of our users ABSOLUTELY NUTS. He turned his monitor upside down!
So, yesterday's software update removes it.
In its place, we added several new features for musical performances and recording sessions... 🧵
@AdamTReineke@EvanBalster@stroughtonsmith We try to preserve backwards compatibility with fairly old versions of OS X (studio machines are frequently venerable and airgapped). Unfortunately a recent update caused a compatibility issue that doesn't trip our crash forensics.
Behind the scenes, we overhauled imitone's code in order to lay the groundwork for our next major update, which will focus on our plugins.

Third, we added a button to modify vibrato depth range, similar to the control that appears when using pitch bend. We made both of these buttons more visible.

If, like most of us, you don't know much about MIDI, the good news is that MIDI 2.0 is fundamentally aimed at automation — imitone and other tools will use it to communicate and adapt to one another, so everything "just works".
Fewer settings, fewer numbers, less confusion.

When connected to another MIDI-CI enabled app, imitone will detect the instrument you're playing and automatically pick the best settings for it.
@erniebornheimer We do plan to add direct MIDI file output to imitone but it's going to be part of a larger package of features related to recording and timing.
@erniebornheimer Hello, Ernie! It's best to connect imitone to a MIDI sequencer or DAW for this purpose. MIDI files usually need to define a tempo, while imitone's output is in free timing. Recording into another app also gives you a chance to edit the MIDI notes and pluck out any strays.
