Taylor has two songs in her recent discography referencing high school. One is about meeting someone who revitalizes that feeling of youthful excitement in you, after failed relationships in adulthood had made you jaded.

The second uses an example of a missed opportunity with a high school friend who later tragically passed away as a lesson for listeners to take chances in their lives. It's a song of reflection.

Neither of these songs are "about high school." They are about adulthood, using nostalgia as tool. But Taylor haters in general are not very smart people, so I'm not surprised you missed this.

I am sympathetic to the fact that Ariana Grande suffered an incredible amount of trauma from losing Mac and the terrorist attack in Manchester.

However, this tendency of hers to play the abused victim whenever the public expresses concern (over her emaciated body) or dismay (the Ethan Slater affair) is incredibly toxic. Her fans genuinely believe she’s been chased away by mean body shamers when she likely is going to get treatment.

I'll have more to say on this soon. I've covered body image in Hollywood for a while. While we don't know what Ariana is going through privately, this seems coordinated and calculated. She drops her album two days ago, releases a music video literally about being thin, where she shows off her emaciated body, and suddenly her team is upset there's "scrutiny" of her public image? You can't have it both ways. She does this cat and mouse game. Her song is called "petal" and she paints herself as this thin delicate flower, showing off every bone and rib, then it's 'how dare you' discuss her body. There's literally a scene in the video about her weight. I hope she does take some time off to reflect and get well. But she's playing into things herself. She's very online and likes to feed the beast. Then she's a victim of public scrutiny. We're not allowed to discuss? Ok...
