Many people miss about racism that it really endangers us all. Its whole philosophy is inimical to the freedom of the individual. It makes me less safe. I’m more at risk of evils, for it existing, because of the theory of mind that it allows and encourages.
Because it’s a branch of thinking within the sphere of violating the individual to satisfy imagined needs and demands - and if they feel welcome to do it to a person because of some ‘race,’ they can more easily feel welcome to do it to me because of some ‘quirk’ of my being
@aliciaandrz In all of the interpretations I’ve seen of Mercutio’s death, he’s depicted as acting like he’s not hurt very badly until all of a sudden he’s on his deathbed and dies. Is there a reason to think Shakespeare conceived it that way? Otherwise, did something influence this view?
