A quote from Steve Jobs in 1995 on why the internet was going to be so disruptive: “the computer becomes a device for communication not computation”. Your intranet needs to be first and foremost a comms tool.
The pandemic has forced many businesses to transition to Work From Home. Because of this abrupt change, many might be ill-equipped and encounter challenges that could affect productivity. Fortunately, these issues can be solved with an intranet. #intranet https://t.co/0Hy9mXuT5Y
If:
Facebook is for people you know;
Twitter is for people you don’t know;
Instagram is for people you don’t know and want to be;
LinkedIn is for people you know via work; and
Google for things you don’t know;
What is your intranet for??
According to @techradar the top 5 applications used by small businesses are Slack, Gsuite, Xero, Asana, Dropbox. An Intranet is a great way to have a central landing page for all, especially when all share same authentication ie Active Directory, O365, Google for Business etc
The thing that annoys most people about their intranet? Search does not work. It can be easily fixed with 1) Best bets 2) Better navigation and 3) Like searches. If your intranet doesn't offer these, you need one that does.
