Fair Play is a year old today! I’m still so proud of it, and honestly a little gobsmacked I was able to finish it. I wrote this book for anyone who has questions about transgender and intersex athletes. If that’s you, I recommend it.

With flu & COVID spreading, the government must ensure paid sick days for all. Green Party Leader David Coon tabled a bill before the election. It's time for the Holt government to pass it, so New Brunswickers don’t have to choose between their health or a paycheque.
We were disturbed but not shocked by Ontario MPP @MacLeodLisa who raised concerns that it was an “egregious incident” that required “disciplinary measures” for a Remembrance Day service to include a song in Arabic.
People are now saying the quiet part aloud: it is entirely preposterous to suggest that speaking a language like Arabic is tantamount to hate.
This is the same province where only a few years ago a family was run over in London for looking different.
This is also coming from an elected official who remains best known for her argument that the autism parent community are “professional protesters” and was demoted from her ministry as a result.
This recent statement is utterly unacceptable. @fordnation
🚨🚨🚨 NB Premier Susan Holt announces her cabinet has repealed the section of Regulation 84-20 that prohibited the Medicare funding of procedural abortions in clinics outside hospitals. Holt is holding the cabinet order.
We welcome the news that paragraph (a.1) of Schedule 2 of Reg. 84-20 has been repealed.
We look forward to meeting with Premier @susanholt and Health Minister John Dornan to discuss implementation and support for clinics like #Clinic554.
UPDATE from @HHBridges: Please avoid the area of Wyse Road to Windmill Road between Dawson Street and Lyle Street as these streets are closed. First responders are assisting the department of labour on the scene of a damaged crane. The MacDonald bridge will be closed until further notice. Please avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the #OPT@FranceskAlbs: "The institutions of the state of #Israel, a self proclaimed rule of law system - the executive, the parliament, the courts - have failed to contain and redress abusive power. Instead, together, they have advanced the course of the current catastrophe. And while international tribunals will hopefully hold individual accountable, the responsibility of the state must be understood and assessed in its own right and cannot wait. This should have been stopped already by the Security Council last October, after three early warnings issued by dozens of UN independent experts, when the #ICJ passed its first set of provisional measures, when I presented my first report, or before #Rafah was invaded, or before the invasion of #Lebanon, and instead, the silence, or worse, the justification of a small but very influential number of states in this room leaves me utterly lost of words. And yet, wherever there are lives to save, there is still the urgency to intervene to prevent new atrocities that will further scar human history. Make that moment be now."
“The provinces with the lowest happiness scores — Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario — are all led by conservative premiers. Conservatives are the problem.” https://t.co/2jCNxoJ7pE

One thing about New Democrats: we get things done.
✅ Won a school lunch program & cut childcare waitlist fees for families
✅ Indexed income assistance to inflation to support our community
✅ Protected reproductive health care & declared intimate partner violence an epidemic
Rolling out the red carpet for not one, BUT TWO prime ministers who have butchered Arabs.
Tony Blair - Iraq 2003-11
Ehud Olmert - Lebanon 2006, Gaza 2008-9
War crimes? Murdered civilians? Unfathomable bloodshed? Welcome to @JW3London
@cheryl_leader@tobinatrix There's no such thing as parents rights. Children have rights. Parents have obligations and responsibilities for their children. Children are not an extension of their parents or their property.
