Sugilite Freeform 💜
Sugilite is known for its striking purple to violet coloration, although it can also range from pink to reddish-purple. Its color is attributed to the presence of Manganese within its crystal structure. The mineral is often translucent to opaque and has a vitreous to waxy luster. Although this piece is from South Africa, Sugilite was originally discovered in Japan by mineralogist Ken-ichi Sugi and therefore, the mineral was named after him. 💕
