One Piece is NOT a political
anime.
It’s a battle-adventure about one idiot who just wants to be free and protect his friends.
People keep saying it’s political because of the corrupt government, slavery, and revolutionaries. They’re missing the point.

@sandman_AP any chance I can get you to weigh in here on my essay?
I feel like people have been making one piece into their political ideological effigy, and I don't know that I agree with that.

Gear 5 is the perfect example.
It doesn’t make Luffy a revolutionary leader. It turns serious battles into cartoon chaos and uncontrollable laughter. The tyrant gets humiliated in the dumbest way possible. That’s joyful inversion, not ideology. 6/18
This is why the Revolutionary Army stays in the background.
They do the long-term political work. Luffy isn’t part of their strategy, he’s the guy who shows up, breaks the current problem, and sails away. 5/18
@hasanthehun Yeah, it's because you're a two-tier justice system piece of shit😭 the fact that you still can't see that is the reason we all think that you are a pathetic loser, barking at any semblance of authority so you can get some attention because your dad never gave it to you enough
