@HazzaniNsfw AI generated slop. Absolutely disgraceful and unethical using the efforts of artists around the world for your own personal gain without their consent.
@EromancerGames@jamm3rd Also hi, cool to see you're just as much of a terrible AI simp as years ago, not surprised. It's nice to have a Subscribestar to milk so you can separate yourself from the issues of artists huh.
@EromancerGames@jamm3rd A luddite is someone who shuns new technology in general.
Acknowledging the terrible ethics of datasets made from scraping works of people around the world is not at all the same. It does nothing to raise the standard of living, unlike robotics AI, and hurts those it takes from
@lladnar516@YouSpoonyBard1@jamm3rd The issue isn't things "needing to be drawn", it's people profiting from AI that only function off the works of vast amounts of people who didn't consent and whom it gives nothing back to. It supports the usage of that theft and normalizes it. It's unethical in any scenario...
@SynKitsune @YouSpoonyBard1@jamm3rd "Training on your art" in this case only means influencing it to look more like your art. It's still relying on all that art scraped from artists around the world who did not consent. It only functions because of all those artists. They all get hurt while Kim gets to profit.
@SynKitsune @YouSpoonyBard1@jamm3rd You unfortunately misunderstand what it means to "train the AI on your own art", as do many, sadly.
These AI cannot function with only the inputs of your own art as training, even if you painted 5000 pieces in your lifetime.
It still uses the unethical StableDiffusion dataset.
@Rovbt @jamm3rd The AI model Kim is using (SD) for the "art" is only able to function by scraping the works of artists around the world who didn't consent, to then be blended together in software that takes all that hard work and gives it to someone else to profit from, harming all those artists
@Rovbt @jamm3rd Something that replaces the bulk of the act of actually going through the process creating art is not a "tool", it's a grift and goes against the very meaning of art itself. People being pressured to use it in the name of profit margins and having to give up their pride & soul.
@ItsJoCa10@hedidntlaugh@jamm3rd The skills to fix issues don't take much compared to actually making art yourself.
Him using Stable Diffusion and just some style transfer from his own works means he's taking the hard work of artists around the world to profit himself and give nothing back to them. Unethical.
@hedidntlaugh@ItsJoCa10@jamm3rd Nikke came out in 2022.. Privaty was there from the start. So no, she's not made with AI, it was too early.
Just because hands look weird doesn't mean AI, it has to look weird in a specific way. These are just awkwardly placed & painted.
@RandomNumber758@Aquonyx And in your universe, I assume there's no such thing as omitting information? Unless it's obvious, Steam wouldn't know.
If a person that would use genAI thinks they can get away with not disclosing it, they usually will, cause they know it will help them get more interest.
Heads up to anyone thinking of supporting/playing Palworld who also cares about genAI issues... The CEO of that studio is full speed ahead on generative AI, frequently promotes it and tries to push its use in his studio. Even made a game focused entirely around it using SD.
@pawsomeadvice@Aquonyx If an indie game studio can't afford an artist, then you're small enough that you should be looking for people to collaborate with instead, plenty of artists looking to. Or, if your gameplay is good enough, placeholder assets should be fine to then pitch the game for funding.
@pawsomeadvice@Aquonyx I'd love to make a blockbuster movie, that doesn't mean I should take other's camera equipment & studio, or threaten actors to participate. I have to work with what I have, start small & grow until I can afford those things. I'm not entitled to other's work just because "I want".
@BlackMa00079416@exactlywatt1312 They released a game in 2022 that was entirely about AI generating "art" called "AI: Art Imposter"
The dev has constantly been praising genAI from the start and talked about their developers using it as well.
So the stretch here is to claim they weren't using it for Palworld.
@BlackMa00079416@exactlywatt1312 The context of this thread literally shows a post from 2021 of PocketPair's head admiring how Pokemon designs can be generated. The person above wasn't implying the models themselves got generated. Just concepts like in the 2021 posts.
A year before the trailer released.
@Rahll It's weird how many people don't seem to realize or care that they're making it harder for other platforms to become good replacements by refusing to focus their time on those other platforms.
The addiction to the (mostly botted) numbers here is depressing.
Let this place die.
@Rahll This is great, but also why are artists and anti-AI people still on this website? Break the addiction, please. I haven't been on here in months, there's much better platforms that aren't run by someone that is literally trying to normalize genAI and integrate it in every aspect.
