Oil’s Hormuz premium is leaking out.

WTI crude spiked near $106 in mid-September as the Strait of Hormuz risk trade intensified.

Now prices have backed off fast.

By Sept. 22, WTI was around $90, down roughly 15% from the peak.

The latest move is coming after reports that Iran has offered a seven-day path to reopen the strait if Washington began easing its blockade.

When the market sees a path to reopening, oil can fall quickly and risk assets can catch a relief bid.
