Most of Dhruv Rathee's followers are youths because, by nature, the youth tend to be communist. Anti-establishment and rebellious ideas excite them.

However, the problem is that these youths stay away from home, residing in metros for education, and depend on their parents for finances. They may not go to their hometown to vote as per Rathee's wishes. If they express the desire to return home to vote, citing their participation in a revolutionary army fighting to save democracy against an oppressive state, their father will give them a mouthful, especially regarding financial aspects.

By the time they secure jobs and become financially independent, they shift away from the communist mindset and start thinking independently. Of course, exceptions exist. This is why Dhruv Rathee is inconsequential as far as Indian polls are concerned.

PM Modi yesterday announced the extension of the free ration program for another 5 years.

This is a policy decision that could've been announced anytime.

But PM Modi chose to announce this during an election rally for the BJP in Durg, Chhattisgarh.

Election Commission Rules state that making such announcements by a Minister during election period amounts to unfair influencing of voters by use of state machinery.

I've filed a complaint with the ECI demanding that urgent action be taken against this desperate & brazen move by PM Modi to influence Assembly Elections in 5 states.
