Systemantics: How Systems Work and Especially How They Fail by John Gall, unironically a must-read. Extremely short, straight to the point
It is a great book to comprehend how bloated organizations create entropy of purpose and competence even when everyone has good intentions
It's bizarre how a monstrosity like Microsoft can chew through people no matter how good they are. I personally (well, through Internet) know some Microsoft employees who are very good at programming individually.
But it seems like either there are fewer and fewer of them in the company, or the non-technical side of microsoft became so incredibly Kafkaesque that it's simply impossible to fix it even if you are good at your job.
My team leading experience is all with very small teams, so I don't know what it is to manage huge departments. I'd really like to read or listen to some good insights of why rot like this even happens. Like, I have some ideas of course, but it's always better to talk with hands-on people.
@socialepidopta You have no idea how much brainrot, both genuine and artificial, is in that space, my friend
The only escape from this samsara is deleting the account I'm afraid
It is unbelievable how much better all software has become in the past 6 months! Like everything is working better! Fewer bugs. New features all the time! The apps I use every day have improved at least 10x from where they were just 6 months ago! Services I depend on never break.
Oh wait. None of that happened. Almost everything is actually significantly worse. Not sure how to make sense of that given all the immense productivity gains. Actually I do. Regression to the mean has more gravity than ever. And that is not a good thing.
@socialepidopta@yamioutpost Shame it's not also in the l2d model, but it's a sign of better future
Hopefully a Bready gacha skin or even another nikke like her, considering that she was received well enough
@valigo I'm so glad I avoided web dev like fire until I knew the basics
The habits it enforces are completely cursed and go against everything true and holy in this world
@cavernousfeller Purple is a big jump on weapons because it adds special effects, gold is only for saving space
On secondary items it's one grade earlier - purple is falloff
AOE is king, though summons might also work
Ban any weapon not in your build category ASAP in the run
it's funny how Valve spanked an actual Rothschild in court and then all of a sudden a bunch of these weird spurious lawsuits popped up
it's bullshit btw
they're not a monopoly and 30% cut is quite literally industry standard
you pay that to sell on Nintendo/Sony/Xbox consoles
@TheGoLiver@MyQueenAsuka Kurzgesagt did mention that migration doesn't solve average age problem and that welfare has to be cut down significantly in any reasonable scenario, so 2/3 points met
I wonder when it would click for people that most of the time practical improvement in agent ouput is hype placebo and better harness guzzling more tokens rather than actual technological advancement at this point
FYI if you used fable 5 and built something cool
before you say "wow fable 5 is amazing", check very carefully and scroll through your entire agent session
because it's very possible that it silently switched to opus very early on and it's actually opus who did the job lmao
@fleshsimulator You really should just start not minding ruining lives at this point
Like I get why you keep actively trying not to, but it should at this point be obvious that no amount of poetic justice would give you proper rest from -2σ IQ crowd and you're mentally exhausting yourself
