Players: Regardless of what happens in the future, you’ll never regret working for what you want. Remember that the commitment to excellence is not attached to any result. Commitment is giving yourself every opportunity. You want extraordinary results? Then do extraordinary work.
Now that states are finally allowing sports again, the immediate focus should be on players being back together. Now isn’t when you go 100%. Players have made one new adjustment after another for months. Celebrate getting to be a team again. Everything else takes care of itself.
Coaches: Don’t ever discount the influence you have on your athletes. They watch your energy. They watch your every move. They see how you live each day. They learn how you develop relationships & who you develop them with. How are you impacting them with your hours of influence?

👩🎓👨🎓 May 16 ▶️ TOGETHER FOR SENIORS
📽️ A special message to #IHSA#seniors from Maine West girls basketball coach Kim deMarigny ⬇️
Players: Success won’t ever be given to you. It only comes from consistent hard work. Would you rather be exhausted from working toward your dreams or well rested from waiting on them? The answer is obvious. You have to work at it every day & that’s a choice only you can make.
While it’s important for players to continue to work out & stay physically fit, it’s equally important to develop great habits that will carry you even if you can never play sports again. You are not just the sport you play. Your habits will define you much more than any sport.
To all those moms who willingly sacrifice, who love fiercely, who teach heartbreaking lessons but welcome you with open arms no matter what, to those still with us & those who aren’t, to the women who brought every single one of us into the world & raised us, Happy Mothers Day!
Missing our Warriors! We continue to show support for all healthcare workers, 1st responders, essential workers & all heroes! Special ❤️ to all Moms this Mothers Day Weekend! Go Warriors! B💪! @maine_west#207now#lightsforthefight
Players: No matter what sport you play, doing what it takes to get better is hard. Weight training, nutrition, daily reps, improving speed/agility & mental strength/toughness are all hard. It’s also hard to sit the bench, not play very often & watch others play. Choose your hard.
Congrats to @MW_Girls_BB coach Kim deMarigny on being named one of @ibcacoaches Coach of the Year winners. A great leader at @mwwarriors and an even better person.

You can have all the leadership tools in the world, but if you don’t practice what you preach, it means nothing. You can say all the right things, throw around buzzwords, but if your words don’t match your actions, you’re teaching nothing; you’re gaining nothing; you have nothing
When you hear about @dennisrodman, the “Worm” tonight & hear of his basketball brilliance, please don’t be surprised. Many, the late great Chuck Daly & @brendansuhr included, will tell you he’s one of the smartest players ever & has one of the highest basketball IQs of all time!
