Fun fact: the idea for glimmer first came as I was daydreaming about a genre where every artist had their own signature icy lead sound. Mine was, in my day dreams, based on the general midi programs 97 (rain) and 99 (crystal) of the FluidSynth, combined with a pulse wave.

In fact Ice Choir, while being more grounded in synthpop and chillwave, shows most of the hallmarks of glimmer: shimmering sound design, dreamy atmospheres, minimal production, cute melodies and a highly digital sound full of bell sounds.

Ice Choir's sound design is pure digital frost throughout. With a background in the shoegaze/chiptune fusion band The Depreciation Guild, it's quite easy to draw comparison to ice levels in video game soundtracks.
