Are we putting the right people in charge of our economy?

Maybe it’s time we ask, Do we need leaders who truly understand number to dig us out of this economic mess?
@dbseymour I’m disappointed that you chose to go on this wild goose chase while there are plenty of other pressing issues. Fix the economy, fix the public service, health, and so much more. I voted for you in the last election , and I’m not happy.
@elonmusk what is your opinion on nuclear power? I’m surprised that you haven’t really entered that market as it’s the cleanest way we know to get vast amounts of energy. I don’t think you have time to answer but worth trying. 🙂
@LinusTech I guess the saying “You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” has some truth to it. This whole incident reminds me of Google giving up their old motto “don’t be evil” #LTTsaga
"Please, look after each other in the fuel queues. Bring adequate fluid and food and if you’re not well please, reach out to the closest person next to you and ask for support or call 1990. We need to look after each other during these difficult times" Cricketer Roshan Mahanama
People recommending on Facebook to use empty ice cream cans as water tight urinal bowls when staying 4-5 hour ⏰ long fuel ⛽️ lines. Women in long⛽️ lines are badly affected.A paradise country 🇱🇰 made to hell by bad public policy #MMT
Let’s #ReformNow
When are we reforming these SOE's? We have a list of 527. SOE's have subsidiaries and subsidisers have sub-subsidiaries. Most of corruption takes place in these SOE's and they are the vehicles for corruption. #ReformNow
“Without solid reforms, there is no way out from this crisis.”
PM Rajapaksa is ready to meet protesters who are calling for the ouster of the government for Sri Lanka's economic crisis. @advocatalk’s Dhananath Fernando explains the #SriLankaCrisis https://t.co/XCL3Oa9w0e
Sri Lanka's first international sovereign bond reached maturity just under a decade ago. We've defaulted within 10 years of it being (realistically) possible to do so. Says a lot about our institutions, culture, ideas and voters.
My friend @Dilith2 has named a few responsible for the Econ crisis. Leaving the NAMES aside If we focus the POLICY they followed
1️⃣Import substitution
2️⃣MMT
3️⃣Protectionism
4️⃣Self sufficiency
5️⃣Industrial policy
Simply a few months of bad policies brought🇱🇰down to its knees 1/n
@fernandoharin Thanks for your gesture. But this alone won’t save use. We need unity in the opposition and need to step up to the challenges and take responsibility to resolve this issue.
